A message from the Head Teacher
Welcome to our school website.
I feel very privileged to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school where Christian values flourish. Dawpool Church of England Aided Primary is full of happy, well-behaved children who are a pleasure to teach. At our very special learning community we do our utmost to make every child and adult feel that they are an important part of our school. We value our role in the community and have strong links with our local churches. Reverend Jane Turner leads worship regularly and members of Barnston Church visit every two weeks to share Bible stories in a very special way. For the past three years we have been able to offer a place to the parents of every child living in the parish who named us as first choice irrespective of church attendance.
All of the staff at our school work very hard to make lessons interesting and to help each child find their best way of learning. As a result, our pupils are keen to learn and they feel proud of their success in all areas of the curriculum. Since 2004 we have run our own school meal service. Our kitchen is managed by super cooks who have designed a very healthy menu, cooking meals which our pupils love to eat.
Our last Ofsted inspection was in September 2008 when the school was judged to provide an outstanding quality of education. Pupils' personal development was judged as outstanding as was leadership and management of the school. By using a hyperlink on our website you can access the full report.
Our weekly newsletter 'The Dawpool News' will give you just a taste of life at Dawpool. We get lots of requests from members of the local community, clergy, FoDS and parents to spread all sorts of news. We hope to keep everyone upto date with what is going on in the Dawpool Family and to celebrate our learning experiences.
I hope our website becomes one of your favourites.
